Another great collaboration with our friends at Hatmedia. The Sydney Airport Link website redevelopment is a great example of how a client can use the CMS they're used to (Wordpress), and still benefit from all the Jamstack has to offer
The brief was simple: Uncluttered and minimalist while consolidaing exisitng functionality.
It was important for Sydney Airport Link to keep their Wordpress as their CMS. Fortunately, GatsbyJS has first class integration with Wordpress, so this was a piece of cake.
It was decided to build a "Next Train" widget that would provide realtime departure times for site visitors. By using Gatsby's new serverless functions, we were able to quickly and securely consume Transport NSW realtime datafeeds and display them on the site.
Lighthouse is a free, open-source tool provided by Google, to analyse and suggest improvements to websites. When performing our benchmarks we emulate a mobile device on a "slow" mobile network.
While it would be nice to get 100 on everything, sometimes it's just not possible. Network latency, 3rd party components, complex pages, even corporate style guides can all affect the results. Irrespective of the numbers check out any site in our portfolio and I'm sure you'll be amazed at how quickly it loads.
